IdleTab is a static website with browser-based utility tools. The short version: the tools run on your own device, and we run no accounts, no analytics and no ads.

What we do not collect

  • No account, login, email address or any other personal information is needed to use the site.
  • No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising scripts and no third-party embeds run on these pages today.
  • Nothing you see or hear is captured. A screen test is your own browser filling your own display with colors, and the noise tools synthesise sound in your own browser; there is no screenshot, no recording, no microphone access and no upload.
  • We operate no backend and no database that could hold data about you.

How the tools work

Every tool here is client-side. The pages are pre-built static files delivered to your browser, and each tool runs inside that browser using ordinary web APIs such as the Web Audio API, the Fullscreen API and the Screen Wake Lock API. Nothing you do with a tool, and no result a test shows you, is transmitted anywhere.

What is stored on your device

The site uses your browser's local storage to remember preferences you set yourself: your light or dark theme, which tools you pinned, which tools you used recently, the colors you mixed in the custom color tool, and whether you dismissed the install prompt. That data stays in your browser and is never sent to us. The "Clear local history" button on the homepage removes the pinned and recent lists; clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes all of it.

The site also registers a service worker so pages load quickly and keep working offline. It caches pages and images in your browser; it stores nothing about you.

Server logs

The web server that delivers these files may keep standard request logs - IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser user agent - as part of normal hosting operation. They exist to keep the site running and secure, not to build a profile of you.

Your rights

We hold no personal data about you on a server, so there is nothing for us to look up, export or delete on request. If you believe otherwise, write to the address below and we will look into it.

Changes to this policy

This page describes the site as it is today. If analytics or advertising are ever added, this page and the "Last updated" date above change with them. We will not quietly reduce the guarantees described here.
